KOLKATA (PTI): Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, is soon going to provide a digital locker facility to the candidates of class X and XII to store their important documents online.
Digilocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents. Citizens of India who sign up for this facility get a dedicated cloud storage where individuals can safely keep their important documents such as mark sheets and certificates. Individuals can also download and share them digitally with various stakeholders anytime and anywhere.
“Unlike the old practice when the candidates had to download the scanned image of the hard copy of mark sheet, all they have to do now is to open an account with ‘http://digilocker.gov.in and give their mobile number and follow the steps thereafter,” Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon told PTI on Saturday.
“The Council from now onwards in addition to providing hard copies of certificates to the candidates of ICSE and ISC examinations shall also make available digitally signed copies of the statement of marks and pass certificates through DigiLocker,” Arathoon said.
“Digilocker facility is a part of PM Modi’s mission for a digital India and we know it will be popular among the students as the present young generation is far more tech savvy than you and me,” Arathoon added.
Here are some benefits of Digilocker Facility:
- 1. An individual can easily access and share their documents digitally anytime and anywhere.
- 2. It makes easy for an individual to validate the authenticity of documents as they are issued directly by the registered issuers.
- 3. eSign facility is provided to the registered users (which is considered same as the self-attestation).
